Pair it with NAD’s M23 power amplifier for a stunning system that excels technologically, sonically, and visually.

Not only is the Masters M66 BluOS streaming DAC-preamplifier the most advanced preamplifier NAD has ever offered, it represents an entirely new class of hi-fi separate components. In addition to a plethora of inputs, including MM/MC phono and HDMI eARC, the M66 incorporates an audiophile-grade DAC and a high-resolution multi-room music streamer.

Along with the full-bandwidth version of Dirac Live Room Correction, the M66 features Dirac Live Bass Control, allowing independent control of each connected subwoofer, for smooth, consistent response throughout your listening room. The combination of Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control enables the M66 to deliver more accurate in-room performance than any two-channel component ever offered.

With its elegant aluminum casework, super-smooth digital volume control, and vibrant 7″ touchscreen, the M66 exudes class and quality. Visually, sonically, and technologically, it’s an ideal match to NAD’s award-winning Masters M23 power amplifier. Of course, the Masters M66 BluOS Streaming DAC-Preamplifier can be paired with any high-performance amplifier.

Music Everywhere

Featuring a high-resolution network streamer based on the acclaimed BluOS multi-room music-management system, the M66 provides access to more than 20 streaming services, including several that offer lossless and high-resolution audio. Using the intuitive BluOS app on a smart device or personal computer, listeners can play music from their favourite streaming service, their personal music libraries, and thousands of Internet radio stations, in resolution up to 24-bit/192kHz. Like all BluOS-enabled components, the M66 has full MQA decoding and rendering capability.

With BluOS, you can listen to music in just one room; or share music over your home network with up to 63 additional BluOS-enabled components from NAD and other hardware partners. The M66 integrates easily with home-control systems from Control4, Crestron, ELAN, RTI, URC, and others. Listeners can also control playback by voice using Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri.

Perfect Response

The M66 integrates Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control. Connect the supplied calibrated microphone to the M66’s USB port and then launch the Dirac Live app on a smart device or personal computer. The app will walk you through the calibration process, and then generate correction filters that compensate for acoustic problems like standing waves and unwanted reflections. You’ll enjoy more textured bass, improved tonal accuracy, vastly improved clarity, and more focused imaging.

In a first for a stereo component, the M66 features four balanced and four single-ended subwoofer outputs and integrates Dirac Live Bass Control, which allows independent calibration of multiple subwoofers. Dirac Live Bass Control optimizes subwoofer output in both the frequency and time domains, achieving a seamless blend between the subwoofer(s) and main speakers, and delivering smooth, consistent bass response through the entire listening area, not just in the sweet spot.

Peak Performance

At the heart of the M66’s digital section are ESS Technology’s flagship Sabre DAC and ADC chips. These audiophile-grade designs are known for their exceptionally wide dynamic range, ultra-low noise and distortion, and outstanding time-domain performance.

The M66 is the first component to feature NAD’s innovative Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH) circuitry. When activated in the BluOS app, DDH eliminates digital inter-sample peak clipping distortion, which can occur during digital-to-analogue conversion with sudden high-frequency transients. The benefits are especially noticeable with percussion instruments: rim shots are more impactful but less strident; cymbals are more realistic and less splashy.

For volume adjustment, the M66 employs an ultra-precise resistor-ladder control circuit. Compared to traditional analogue circuits, the M66’s digital volume control markedly reduces thermal and related distortions, maximises dynamic range, and more accurately matches left- and right-channel output across the entire volume range.

By default, analogue signals are converted to digital so that functions like Dirac Live Room Correction and Bass Control are available with all sources. However, the M66 has a selectable Analogue Direct mode that bypasses all digital processing, and separate signal paths for analogue and digital sources. Internally, the analogue and digital sections are physically separated and shielded from each other with their own separate power supplies sections, so that analogue signals are unaffected by digital interference when Analogue Direct mode is engaged. This results in distinct volume attenuation, superb left and right tracking and very low noise.

Connect Everything

With its full suite of analogue and digital inputs, the M66 can accommodate all your source components. Vinyl fans will appreciate the M66’s ultra-quiet MM/MC phono stage, which features precise RIAA equalization, high overload margins, and an innovative circuit that suppresses the infrasonic noise that is always present with vinyl playback without affecting bass response. For TV and movie viewing, there’s an HDMI eARC port for connection to an HDTV. Other options include two coaxial and two optical S/PDIF inputs, an AES/EBU balanced digital input, two pairs of RCA line-level analogue inputs, and one pair of XLR balanced inputs.

In addition to unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR outputs for connection to a power amplifier, the M66 has four unbalanced RCA and four balanced XLR subwoofer outputs. The M66’s dedicated headphone amplifier has very low output impedance and very high maximum output voltage, enabling it to drive demanding high-impedance studio monitor headphones. The M66 also has Bluetooth connectivity, with support for the AAC, LDAC, and aptX HD codecs.

Future Forward

The Masters M66 represents the pinnacle of what is technically achievable in a two-channel preamplifier today, and will maintain its technological leadership for decades to come. On the rear panel are two expansion slots that support MDC2, the latest generation of NAD’s Modular Design Construction future-proofing technology. As technology evolves, this will enable M66 owners to add new capabilities simply by inserting an MDC2 module into one of the slots.

Everything about the NAD Masters M66 BluOS streaming DAC-preamp is intended to inspire pride of ownership: the gorgeous 7″ touchscreen, the elegant aluminium casework, and the silky-smooth digital volume control. With its leading-edge technology, unmatched versatility, and superb build quality, the Masters M66 is truly a masterpiece of sound.

X-P700 Pre Amplifier

he affordable high-end preamp
Succeeding the X-P500, the X-P700 offers technical refinements rarely encountered in this range: dual mono design and the most direct signal processing possible (Direct Path). Supreme refinement, it is possible to choose between two output schemes: the class A mode using bipolars in double cascade assembly, close to a tube gradient, and the Discrete Mode, based on a JFet differential and current mirror in the bipolars, polarized in class AB, more traditional. Its design is very sober and refined, a single rotary button is present with a push button to validate the choices: access to the inputs, volume adjustment, bass/treble tones, balance or intensity. The remote control activates these functions remotely.

The X-P700 is really very complete: nine analog inputs including a balanced one, and a MM/MC phono. On the digital side: two optical inputs, a coaxial input, a USB-B (Xmos) and a USB-A. The DAC is the powerful Burr Brown PCM 1796 -24 bit/192 kHz converter. On the output side, the X-P700 offers an RCA doubled by a balanced XLR, plus a high-pass output and two for the subs. Headphone fans are spoiled: two front inputs (6.35 and 3.5 jack) plus below a double independent gain adjustment +6, 0, -4 dB and output impedance 0 or 100 ohms.

The X-P700 is very seriously built, starting with the sober 10 mm black methacrylate front panel, common to the Classic Line. But the inside is more revealing: two high-capacity toroidal transformers feed dual mono power supplies filtered and regulated on the motherboard, also containing the preamp stages. The quality of the adjustable MC high and low level phono stage, as well as the MM capacity is remarkable for this budget, hard to imagine better.

In short, at the price of the new X-P700, it’s hard to do better. That’s what we wanted from the beginning of the development of this new preamplifier. We didn’t skimp on the quality of the components, the decoding or the power supply, the kind of attention that counts when listening.

The X-P700 is the ideal preamplifier, it can be combined with our range of power amplifiers such as the famous X-A160 (or EVO), X-A220 (or EVO), BX2 or the new X-A600 or any other audiophile quality power amplifier. Enjoy listening. Discover!

While the Kaitaki preamplifier mates aesthetically and musically with the Plinius P10 power amplifier this exciting preamplifier is the perfect partner for the Plinius SA103 power amplifier used either as a stereo amplifier or in a monoblock configuration.

Visible controls on the Kaitaki are the rotary volume knob and source selection buttons with all other functions driven from the distinctive Plinius remote control. LED indicators on the front panel display demonstrate the source selected and status of the mute, phase and HT bypass functions.

The Kaitaki will allow the connection of up to 5 source components including both balanced and single ended connection for CD. A processor loop allows integration with a home theatre system and output is available from RCA or XLR connectors. The optional adjustable phono stage model allows enjoyment of vinyl at a sophisticated level without the need to purchase a specialised phono preamplifier.

The electronics topography is derived in part from development work done on circuits for our later generation integrated amplifiers and source components, and a power supply with extremely low impedance allows the audio circuitry to deliver its best.

Reference M-10 Preamplifer

The Reference M-10 is an entirely new, fully discrete, dual mono preamplifier, designed from the ground up. It is the culmination of decades of experience and the constant pursuit of excellence in electronic design.

The Reference M-10 is testament to Plinius’ relentless quest to produce a preamplifier that reveals extraordinary audio detail. At this crucial beginning of the signals journey low value, audio grade resistors are used to minimise noise and, when combined with the adjustable gain feature result in sound without distortion or unnecessary colour, this is pure, powerful sound.

Plinius’ signature aesthetic is still ever present in the external styling of both the dual mono preamplifier and it’s remote. As always, form follows function resulting in the ultimate in design sophistication.

Lovers of high-end audio reproduction will be impressed with the Reference M-10’s uninhibited ability to supply pure detail to the matching Reference A-300 power amplifier. We believe the Reference M-10 can hold its head up amongst the world’s best performing preamplifiers.

LINE OUT
The Line out provides a line level output, carrying the selected source signal. The Line Out allows for the signal to go on to recording equipment, headphone amplifiers or sub-woofer speakers.

REMOTE TRIGGER INPUT AND OUTPUT
In order to integrate more effectively into a home theatre system, the Reference M-10 has a remote trigger input socket on the rear panel. By connecting a processor or source component with a remote trigger signal to this socket, the Reference M-10 can be switched between HT Bypass and standby modes. When in standby the preamplifier draws less current and will operate at minimum temperature. This may be of advantage in multi-amplifier and/or remote installations.
The Reference M-10 also features two remote trigger output sockets. By connecting this trigger output to other system components, the entire system can be put in and out of standby by the source component.

GROUND LIFT SWITCH
This allows for the signal ground to be isolated from the main chassis earth. This can assist in resolving unwanted ground loops or hum due to duplicate ground paths in some systems.

WBT AND NEUTRIK CONNECTORS
High quality WBT RCA and Neutrik XLR input and Output connectors are fitted to ensure a high performance, low distortion interface between your cables and the preamplifier.

BALANCE CONTROL
The balance control adjusts the volume level between left and right. This can assist with equalising channel balance where a recording or speaker placement is not optimal.

GAIN SWITCH
The gain switch allows adjustment of the Lineamp amplification factor. High gain offers a similar level to most preamplifiers, while low gain allows further improvement in distortion levels and can assist where multiple instances of XLR connections result in too much gain in the complete system.

ALUMINIUM CONSTRUCTION
The aluminium lid and panels provide a non-magnetic cover to reduce unwanted magnetic fields that can interfere with the sensitive audio signals.

Perfectly Balanced

Together with the GT-5000 turntable and M-5000 power amplifier, Yamaha delivers an end-to-end balanced signal chain across its flagship models for premier performance.

Floating and Balanced Pre-amplifier

The C-5000 features fully balanced and discrete circuit transmission across all stages of the signal path at Tone Defeat.

The patented floating design is adopted across the phono EQ, input amp and line amp stages – removing the influence of ground noise from the signal.

Symmetrical, Folding-book Circuit Design

The folding-book design for the pre-amplifier PCB mirrors the left and right signal paths for precise matching and layout.

With each channel physically identical, the C-5000 is capable of the most accurate reproduction of audio which is both wide and deep.

Further, the ground loop is minimised when other components are connected.

Dual Toroidal Transformers

Adopting independent dual toroidal transformers for the left and right channels delivers optimal separation and therefore producing a sound stage which is faithful to the original source.

Low magnetic leakage lowers adverse impact on the audio signal. Following detailed research based on trial listening, the power transformer was enclosed in a copper-plated case to suppress magnetic flux and vibration. This also assists in minimising the influence of flux in the phono circuit.

This realises a gentle, calm and even spacious sound due to enhanced reproduction of detailed signals.

Low-impedance Design

By copper-plating the chassis to minimise the influence of voltage on the circuit, the C-5000 is capable of expressing the subtlest nuances as well as powerful bass.

Additionally, thick screw-type wires are utilised to reduce the impedance of the power supply and maximises the transmission of musical information.

Original Design

The C-5000 was designed from the ground up to deliver the ultimate in listening experiences – down to its aesthetic and even its touch.

The knobs and lever switches feature original designs to communicate both innovation and craftsmanship.

The volume knob is both rigid and precise – employing ball-bearings and precision-cut aluminium to achieve its touch while the lever switches have also been refined for enhanced operation.

Custom-designed Feet

Every aspect of the C-5000 was carefully considered when designing this flagship model. Its construction exudes master craftsmanship and reflects an obsession with achieving the highest levels of performance.

The feet are no exception. Like the M-5000, the custom heavy-duty brass feet function either as fully supported spikes or with a scratch guard base for use on delicate surfaces.

A high quality active pre-amplifier featuring a host of inputs and outputs. The LA-4 makes a perfect combo with either the Masterclass or Sapphire power amplifiers. High-end touches include gold plated circuit boards, relay switching of all inputs and output and a sophisticated class A output stage. The LA-4 is a high gain amplifier that provides an iron fist of control over any power amplifier. The electronic circuitry has been developed to offer the best possible sonic performance without compromise including the use of specially selected transistors and capacitors to provide the best signal preservation. The gain stages are each powered by current shunt differential power supplies, which enable the fastest transients and most powerful crescendos with true musical empathy.
